Many older adults are considered under-connected, lack digital literacy, or both. This disconnect between those who are knowledgeable about technology and those who are not is called the Digital Divide. Our program aims to bridge this divide between our older and disabled adults of Kern County. Individuals in need of assistance can reach out at the number below to schedule a lesson in digital literacy either in-office or in the comfort of their own home. Digital Divide also hosts various presentations across Kern County. Our training covers a variety of different topics including but not limited to:

  • Basic Device Navigation
  • Searching the Web and Online Safety
  • Wi-Fi / Bluetooth / Cellular / NFC
  • Email / Social Media
  • Video Chatting / Tele-health
  • Food Delivery / Ride Sharing
  • Online Shopping / Banking

People of all skill levels can apply; including clients who have never used a smart phone, or clients who are comfortable with all things connected. Individuals without their own devices can also apply as our program may find ways to get you access.
